The inaugural edition of the Oslo Biennial, the City’s first art biennial in public space, is due to open in May 2019 and will be curated by Eva González-Sancho and Per Gunnar Eeg-Tverbakk. The name, conceptual framework and format of the biennial will be presented throughout 2018.

The autumn of 2016 the poet and sculptress Elena Aitzkoa did performances around the city of Oslo carrying a light blue suitcase full of sculptures. You could find her singing and whistling in the street, probably wearing a headscarf.

OSLO PILOT invites you to the launch of Siri Aurdal’s sculpture Bølgelengder - rekomponert (Wavelengths - recomposed) in The Vigeland Park on Saturday August 27th at 2 pm.

The new version of the sculpture that OSLO PILOT is installing in Vigeland Park will be displayed in a three-part horizontal configuration that reshapes physical material while also alluding to a rearrangement of social relations. This open and low-lying form contrasts with the vertical and masculine designs that characterise most of Vigeland’s sculptures.

OSLO PILOT and Trollkrem enthrall you to enter SOPPEN, a two-day festival of music and performance in Ekebergparken Sculpture Park, August 19th and 20th, 2016.

Next to rotting tree trunks and remains of stone age settlements you can experience the work of more than 20 international artists. The artists have been invited by Trollkrem to develop new work specifically for the occasion. The unique line up responds to the backdrop of the sculpture park to spawn new representations of the gendered body.

A conversation between Elizabeth Sackler, Eline Mugaas and Wencke Mühleisen. The conversation will be led by Tone Hansen, Director of Henie Onstad Kunstsenter. Katya García-Antón, Director of the Office for Contemporary Art Norway (OCA), will give an introduction to Elizabeth Sackler and her work. The conversation addresses questions related to feminism in visual art and uses as one of the examples Kunstnernes Hus and OSLO PILOT’s ongoing reintroduction of Siri Aurdal ‘s pioneering artistic works.

Siri Aurdal Relaunched

This spring, OSLO PILOT is pleased to cooperate with Kunstnernes Hus and Vigeland Museum on a project surrounding the work of Norwegian artist Siri Aurdal (b. 1937). Encompassing a newly released publication, an exhibition at Kunstnernes Hus, and an outdoor presentation in Vigeland Park, the project reintroduces Aurdal’s groundbreaking body of work both locally and internationally.

City of Dislocation

"Consolidate or Die” is the first exposure of the overarching project City of Dislocation, which is a two-year investigation of important historical landmarks about to be vacated as newly merged institutions move into new headquarters. The first part of the project explores five iconic buildings: The National Gallery, the Museum of Modern Art, Oslo Public Library, The Munch Museum and the Museum of Decorative Arts and Design. 21 January – 1 May, OSLO PILOT Project Room.
